Headaches and Migraines

Migraines and severe headaches can cause throbbing pain and usually occur on one side of the head. If not treated properly, patients may also experience pain that radiates across their head, into their neck, and down their shoulders. Patients may experience a variety of onset symptoms and complete debilitation once a migraine sets in.

If you’re treating patients with chronic migraines and are looking for an alternative solution to medications, neurofeedback and brain mapping can help create new patterns in the brain. These new patterns help your patients’ brains deal with incoming triggers and stressors while remaining in a balanced state.

Many patients will experience an aura before a migraine comes on, and once it does, he or she may experience symptoms such as:

  • Moderate to severe, throbbing, or pulsing pain
  • Increased pain when being physically active or straining
  • Feeling sick or vomiting
  • Increased sensitivity to light, sound, and preference to lying in a quiet and dark room

What Triggers a Migraine?

Triggers for migraines can vary from patient to patient, and many of them come to you with varying degrees of causes and effects. However, many of their symptoms can be related to hormonal changes, genetics, or their environment. Some of the most common triggers include:

  • Changes in the brainstem and its interactions with the trigeminal nerve
  • Chemical imbalances in the brain
  • Hormonal changes in women
  • Alcohol and caffeine
  • Sleep changes
  • Stress
  • Bright lights or other sensory stimuli
  • Food additives

 Risk of Prolonged Medication Use

It’s not uncommon for patients to turn to over-the-counter pain medications such as Excedrin Migraine formulas, Advil, Motrin IB, and others. However, prolonged use of these medications can have serious side effects. According to the Mayo Clinic, taking these medications for more than 10 to 15 days out of the month can lead to severe, medication-overuse migraines. That’s just one of the many reasons our brain mapping and neurofeedback programs are right for every patient suffering from chronic migraines and severe headaches.

Invest in Brain Forest Systems

The BrainForest Systems are designed to help every superhero regain control over their cognitive health and reach a balanced state. Neurofeedback is scientifically proven to help improve brainwave activity that results in a calmer, happier, and healthier brain. That’s why we’ve made our cutting-edge brain mapping systems easy to use and comprehensive enough so you can confidently treat patients suffering from headaches and migraines.

Our BrainTuning systems come with all of the brain-training tools, software, and training guidelines so you can start treating your patients right away. We use advanced qEEG technologies that allow you to identify and quantify the brain activity that’s causing imbalance and help your patients identify their migraine triggers. From there, you can develop a personalized program that trains the brain through positive sound reinforcements that result in more focus, a boosted mood, and fewer migraines.
